In February 2011, YTL Power Services was awarded a 5-year Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Agreement for Deir Amar as well as Zahrani Power Station in Lebanon; each consisting of a 480 MW combined cycle with the configuration 2-2-1.

Both stations are owned by Electricite du Liban (EDL) and were built by a consortium of Ansaldo and Siemens in 1998/ 99. Previously, EDL had outsourced O&M to three other international companies for contract periods between 3 and 5 years.

In addition to the standard O&M activities, YTLPS’ contract scope includes:
Gas turbine life time extension,

Upgrading of the gas turbines, hence increasing the power generation capacity by about 27 MW per power station, which is equivalent to about 5.5% each plus an increase in efficiency of about 1.4 % per Gas Turbine

Refurbishment of both plants within first year of Commercial Operation Date.
